Perhaps the most common myth that people have about xeriscaping is that it means turning your landscape into a rock garden sprinkled with cacti.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  Plant selection and layout is only one component of a successful low water use landscape.  A successful xeriscape based landscape consists of plants that are regionally and seasonally appropriate.  Your xeriscape garden can be just as bright and colorful as any other professionally designed landscape while requiring 50% less water!
